Question

When you go to a TS, a GS, or an antique store, how many AG items you pass up because you didn't see them, or recognise them? I recently found Samantha's Ice Cream freezer (the wood one) at an antique store, and if I hadn't seem a HB post about it a day or so earlier, I never would have noticed it! There are things now that I am kicking myself for not buying a couple years ago before I was collectoing AG. I was at a church garage sale, and I found the retired school table with the blue chairs and didn't buy it. Price? $3!!! Uggh! If only I had known! But that's not the worst! Also before I was collecting, I found a Samantha and a Josephina at a GS. They each had their complete meet outfit, and christmas dress. Sma had been played with some, but really in ex. cond., Josephina though, was basically brand new. I didn't buy them. Price? $20 each! I am STILL kicking myself!!!

YES! Though I've only had this happen once. I was younger, around 8 or 9 I guess, and I saw Molly's first edition nurse doll in a package of small toys in the toy department of a TS. I don't remember the price, but I KNOW it wasn't much. I want to kick myself for not getting that doll.

When AG first started retiring Felicity's stuff, maybe 5 years ago, they were selling all of her stuff at the outlet-her guitar, shrewsbury kit, Noah's ark, Josefina's farm. I think the guitar was 10.00 and the other sets were 6.00. Since we didn't have Felicity at the time, and DD said she would never want her, I didn't buy them. Dumb, dumb, dumb! Man, could I se a time machine.

Hasn't happened yet...well, OK, it probably has, but I'm SO dense I still don't know I passed up a great deal! Or I'm just repressing.

I doubt I would ever find any AG items at fleamarkets/TS or antique shops here. Kamilla and I are usually on the look-out for 'perfect-size for the girls' itmes that would be useful for them. When in Czech just before Easter, I saw these gorgeous doll-sized Zwiebelmuster (blue onion pattern) tea and dinner sets, but at $ 186.- just not what I want to spend. I can get 2 new dolls for that amount of money

This situation hasn't happened to me (at least not yet???), but I would be mad at myself if it did happen to me.

I'm always looking through everything because, yes I believe it would be mondo easy to walk right by AG stuff and not even see it if it's the small items like the ice cream freezer. We found Addy's birdcage that way at a antique store. Now last year my mother saw a yard sale in the newspaper that said they had AG dolls and accessories. Well they went and were the first ones there but they were too early so they left and went to one right down the road and came right back BUT a lady was walking to the car with an armload of AG dolls!!!!!! She bought all of them!!! Well, they went to the sale anyway and my mom said that they had a huge table FULL of AG furniture and stuff but she didn't even look at it because she didn't know it was valuable!!!!! Yeah, we're both kicking ourselves over that one and I wasn't even there!

She and my DAddy go to yard sales all the time when he is well, and she says she knows that she has probably passed up a bunch of AG stuff but didn't know what she was looking at! For that matter I probably have too! Before we knew what to look for! Oh well, we know now!

I don't go to a lot of yard sales anf I've never been to a TS yet, so it hasn't happened yet, but that doesn't mean it never will.
